intransitive verb: to be worthy, fit, or suitable for some reward or requital; have become recognized as they deserve — T. S. Eliot

It is true that consumers will at times prefer one product or product feature over others. It is true also that businesses aim to sell products to consumers so that the businesses can be profitable. And, to that end, businesses surely aim to create products that meet their consumers’ needs or desires.

I am aware of no cases of consumers issuing formal edicts en masse calling for particular products or features. It does not follow that consumers are virtuous simply because they buy. And few businesses can profitably create a product that utterly fulfills every expectation their customers have ever expressed.

Marketing gibberish just plain makes me crazy.

I accuse myself of extremely poor judgment in starting a bit of writing with a dictionary entry. Sad, that.
